Best Carbon Fiber Watches
Carbon Fiber watches are not as common as you might think. The material itself does not lend itself to watchmaking as easily and it is usually not as important to save weight as with other products like sailboats or bicycles.
However, a number of watchmakers have tried their hand at either using the material for their cases or including it as a design element in their dials.

Best Carbon Fiber Watches
Bulova Precisonist (Ref: 98B229)
Bulova is one of the few USA based watchmakers around and their range of affordable, quality watches is certainly extensive. So, I was not surprised to see they have a carbon fiber watch in their collection.
This very dark and moody carbon fiber watch is chock full of features including a 4 sub-dial chronograph, a tachymeter on the bezel, and a date window at 4-5 o’clock. But Bulova have not stopped there.
Although the movement is “only” a quartz one, it is quite accurate and has a sweeping second hand, which is a nice touch. On top of that, they have rated this watch to 300m water resistance, so it’s safe to take it almost anywhere in the water.
In terms of style, it has a black stainless steel case and bracelet and a textured carbon fiber dial which adds to the uniqueness of this watch. There are screws around the bezel, reminiscent of Hublots watches, and the blue accents on the second hands and tachymeter are stunning.
Specifications
- Quartz movement
- Mineral crystal
- Stainless steel case and bracelet
- Carbon fiber inset dial
- Chronograph, tachymeter, date display
- Water-resistant to 300m (990ft)
- Shock resistant
- Case size: 43 x 46mm
Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GGB-100
Casio’s G-Shock Mudmaster is a classic outdoorsman’s watch that can withstand almost anything you throw at it. With 200 water resistance, shock resistance and mud resistance, it is hard to damage this watch!
The style of this carbon fiber watch is all-black of course, but the devil is in the detail. It has both an analog and digital display, as well as enough buttons to create your own coat! They all have a function of course including the usual array of digital goodies (stopwatch, countdown timer, hourly signal etc). But also this watch also has Casio’s Quad sensor, so Temperature, Digital Compass, Altimeter/Barometer and Accelerometer.
Casio takes it one step further with the Mudmaster though, it also connects via Bluetooth to your phone where you can do even more with the data the Quad sensors provide.
Specifications
- Quartz analog movement
- Mineral crystal
- Carbon fiber/Resin case
- Quad sensor: Temperature, Compass, Accelerometer, Barometer
- Shock and Mud resistance
- Water resistant to 200m (660ft)
- Case size: 55.4×53.1×19.3mm
Ferrari 0830310 XX KERS
Ferrari loves speed and carbon fiber is part of their DNA as a cutting-edge race car manufacturer. So, when they started making watches as well, no one was surprised to see materials like carbon fiber appear on them.
This model from Ferrari is a classic chronograph style, befitting a race team. It has 3 sub-dials with a carbon fiber inset on the dial. Of course, Ferrari’s infamous logo is there at 12 o’clock, reminding us of their success. And a lot of Ferrari red had to come into play, of course – the bezel, hour markers and most of the hands are colored with it.
Outside the dial is a stainless steel case with a silicone strap. Overall there is only 50m water resistance, which is enough to keep the watch running, but I would not take it swimming.
Specifications
- Quartz movement
- Mineral Crystal
- Carbon fiber inset dial
- Water-resistant to 50m (165ft)
- Functions: Backlight, alarm, stopwatch
- Case size: 50 x 15 mm
Invicta Pro Diver Automatic 10643
Invicta loves a little bling and this carbon fiber watch is no different. With the contrasting black and gold color scheme, Invicta certainly makes a statement here.
The dial is black carbon fiber with rose gold / white hands and hour markers. The case is brushed gun metal, and the bracelet is two-tone like the dial.
Inside is a 24 jewel Japanese made automatic movement, which will never need a change of battery!
Being one of Invicta’s Pro Diver models it is certainly dive-ready with 300m water resistance too!
Specifications
- Quartz analog movement
- Mineral crystal
- Stainless steel case and bracelet
- Carbon Fiber dial
- Water resistant to 300m (990ft)
- Case size: 47 x 17 mm
Luminox Navy Seal Black Chronograph Black (3581.EY / 3580 Series)
Luminox is known for their Navy Seal level dive watches and they have upped their game here with the use of carbon fiber. Not in the usual way though. instead they have developed their own material: Carbonox.
According to their website it is a carbon powder they use in varying percentages to help reduce the weight of their watches. You can see it speckled on the dial creating a rather unique rough black look.
This carbon fiber watch is indeed a black-out model throughout, except for the flair of red around the bezel timer and the slogan in the same location – The only easy day was yesterday! Nice mantra to live by!
Specifications
- Movement RONDA 5030.D HH1
- Sapphire crystal
- Carbonox Case

Edox 10020 3 Nin Chronoffshore
Edox might be a Swiss watchmaker you have never heard of, but there are so many nestled in the hills of the Swiss Jura it’s nothing to be ashamed of. They have actually been making watches for over 130 years.
The Chronoffshore model from Edox screams carbon fiber from the outset. The whole dial has that typical black carbon fiber cross-hatched style. This is matched by a precision ceramic bezel around the case.
The offshore is designed to be used by speed racers on the water, so having 300m water resistance is a must. And to help measure how fast they are traveling, there is a 3 sub-dial chronograph and a tachymeter around the bezel as well.

Hamilton Khaki X-Wind Automatic H77696793
Hamilton is a US/Swiss watchmaker who is always innovating. And this pilot’s watch is the epitome of all that they represent.
The Khaki X-Wind has the first-ever drift angle calculator which can help aviators to easily calculate crosswinds while flying. Maybe not something you or I need, but a pretty cool feature nonetheless.
They have included their in-house H-21 automatic movement with 60-hour power reserve under the dial, which has a carbon fiber pattern to it. The rose cold hour markers are matched by the case and strap buttons. And of course, the strap has the cross-hatching of carbon fiber as well.

IWC Ingenieur Automatic Black Dial Carbon (Ref: IW322404)
IWC are another Swiss watchmaker that are always at the forefront of innovation and this hard to find Ingenieur (Engineer in German) model is a carbon fiber watch you will love. It is not only stunning in its design, but was also limited to 1000 pieces
It comes with a ceramic/carbon fiber case and the obvious signs of carbon fiber all over. The all-black is brightly complemented by green on the minute numerals and stitching of the strap.
This is otherwise quite a simple watch in terms of complications with only a date display at 3 o’clock. But inside is IWC’s own Swiss automatic movement (80110 Calibre) to help keep your watch running for years to come. It comes with 40 hours power reserve, runs at 28800.0 vph and has 218 components and 28 jewels.
