The brand is not really part of the mainstream, but that is bound to change soon! They use premium material in all their watches (read sapphire crystal and tough stainless steel), so they can directly compete with other leaders in the market – at least when it comes to quality and durability.

Lum-Tec has the upper hand when it comes to pricing – considering just how much other brands charge for sapphire crystal, I dare say Lum-Tec watches are pretty affordable. Read on to find that perfect timepiece for you!

Lum-Tec G Series G8

The G8 watch from Lum-Tec is an excellent sporty watch. It’s great for people who like unusual items that stand out, since the matte black dial and neon yellow markings are certainly not subtle. The watch features an unusual square shape of the case with rounded edges that give it a softer look.

The bezel of the G8 is fixed, but it has texture that makes you think you’re supposed to turn it one way or the other. Unfortunately that’s not going to happen since its only purpose is to keep that sapphire crystal in place.

This Lum-Tec watch does have an inner bezel, which gives the dial a 3D look. The inner bezel is also fixed, and it’s just a continuation of the dial. It makes the watch look more interesting for sure, but other than that it doesn’t really have a purpose.

There’s lume in all the time markings and hands, so you’ll easily be able to tell time in the dark. However, bear in mind that there’s lume only on the dial and not on the outer bezel, which means that the 12 and 6 markings will be just partially illuminated. Additionally, this watch features a date window at the three o’clock position. It’s not luminous, but considering just how bright that yellow color is, I doubt you’ll struggle too much to read it in the dark.

Specifications

  • 45mm stainless steel case with titanium coating
  • 22/24mm leather strap with yellow stitching
  • Water resistant up to 200 meters
  • Fixed outer and inner bezels
  • Swiss Ronda 515 quartz movement
  • Sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating

Best Diving Watch

Lum-Tec M87 Quartz Wrist Watch

The M87 is Lum-Tec’s take on a diving watch. It features a 44mm stainless steel case with titanium coating for improved durability. And it comes with two straps in the box – a stylish leather one for everyday wear and a durable rubber strap for serious diving adventures.

This watch boasts quartz movement, which makes it extremely precise. However, that also means that it is battery powered, so you will need to replace the battery eventually.

It’s equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel that is standard in diving watches. There is lume in the bezel, so you should be able to read it easily even in pitch black. However, I have to point out that there are no numerals on the bezel; instead the time increments are marked with dashes. Which means that you can’t immediately tell exactly how much time you have left, but instead you must do some calculations to figure it out. It’s not ideal for diving where five minutes can make huge difference.

The hands and markings on the dial are also filled with lume, so those too will be easily legible in the dark. Plus, the M87 watch features a threaded crown that keeps all the water out of the mechanism and ensures your watch performs as it should when you’re actually diving.

Specifications

  • Water resistant up to 300 meters
  • 44mm stainless steel case with titanium coating
  • 24mm lug-to-lug width
  • Luminous markings and hands on the dial, bezel
  • Rubber and leather bracelets included
  • Threaded crown

Lum-Tec Combat B44 Camo Chronograph Wrist Watch

The Combat B44 is a rather durable watch suitable for various outdoor adventures in harsh conditions. It boasts two rugged nylon straps that you couldn’t tear if you tried, as well as an exceptionally durable 43mm stainless steel case with titanium coating and sapphire crystal glass protecting the dial.

Like most other Lum-Tec watches, it boasts extremely precise quartz movement that relies on battery power. But you shouldn’t worry about the battery life too much as the manufacturer promises it will last you at least five years. The watch has a lot of lume on the dial – the markings, hands, numerals and even the chronograph dials all light up in the dark

The chronograph features of this watch include three mini dials that let you track exactly how many hours, minutes and seconds have passed when you start them with the button on either side of the threaded crown.

Also, the Combat B44 is water resistant up to 200 meters and it features a convenient date window tucked between the 4 and 5 numerals

Specifications

  • 43mm stainless steel case with titanium coating
  • Sapphire crystal glass
  • Luminous hands, markings and mini dials
  • Two nylon straps included
  • Battery powered quartz movement
  • Water resistant up to 200 meters

Best GMT Watch

Lum-Tec Comat B45 GMT Wrist Watch

The B45 is very similar to the previous Lum-Tec watch – they are both from the same Combat line, after all. Both watches feature the same durable materials like stainless steel with titanium coating and sapphire crystal glass, as well as the ultra rugged nylon strap. And both have a generous amount of lume on the dial, but its placement does differ a bit.

The main difference between the previous Combat watch and this one is the functionality. Whereas the B44 featured a chronograph, the B45 features an additional inner dial that allows you to tell time in two different time zones simultaneously. The inner dial is fixed and it features a 24-hour format. The lume in this dial is quite interesting – the upper portion of the dial is illuminated but the markings are not, whereas the lower portion of the mini dial features lume in just the markings.

And when it comes to the regular dial, all the markings and all the hands (including the GMT hand) are illuminated for easy legibility in the dark.

The outer bezel of the Combat B45 is fixed and textured, for a more interesting look. But it doesn’t give you any additional features, which is a shame. And certainly a missed opportunity on a GMT watch!

Specifications

  • 43mm stainless steel case with titanium coating
  • Sapphire crystal glass
  • GMT hand and dial
  • Swiss Ronda 515.24H quartz movement
  • Illuminated hands, markings and GMT dial
  • Water resistant up to 200 meters

Best Everyday Watch

Lum-Tec C5 Automatic Wrist Watch

The Lum-Tec C5 automatic watch is an elegant everyday watch without too many bells and whistles. It features SII NH35 Japanese automatic movement, a 38mm stainless steel case and sapphire crystal glass for protection. If you want a sleek automatic watch, this is easily the best option from the brand.

The watch hands and markings on the dial are all filled with lume, ensuring that the C5 is easily legible even in the dark. But that’s about it in terms of watch features – the bezel is fixed, there’s no day/date windows or any extra features that would make this Lum-Tec watch stand out.

And that’s fine if you’re looking for a simple stainless steel watch that does a great job at telling time. The Japanese automatic movement is top of the line and it’s often seen in watches that cost two or three times as much as the C5. But if you want a feature-packed timepiece, you’ll have to look at other options.

Specifications

  • 38mm stainless steel case
  • Sapphire crystal glass
  • SII NH35 Japanese automatic movement
  • Luminous hands and time markings
  • 18mm lug-to-lug width
  • Water resistant up to 100 meters

Best Chronograph Watch

Lum-Tec M74-S Phantom (40mm) Chronograph LE

The M74-S Phantom is a sleek black chronograph watch. It’s great for people who want a feature-packed wrist watch with a sporty design. It’s equipped with Japanese quartz movement for excellent precision and a 40mm stainless steel case for superb durability.

The strap is faux leather, so it won’t be as durable as a proper leather strap. On the other hand, that means you don’t have to worry too much about exposing it to rough conditions, since faux leather is not as sensitive as genuine leather. And this watch comes with an additional rubber band, for those times when you need to prioritize performance and durability over everything else.

The Phantom watch features three chronograph dials that are controlled with buttons above and below the crown. The dials are not filled with lume though, so you can’t really use the chronograph feature in the dark. The time markings and numerals on the main dial are luminous, as are all three hands of the watch.

This Lum-Tec watch is water resistant up to 100 meters and it has a screw down crown, so it’s not a terrible option for diving either. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re strictly looking for a diving watch because it lacks a rotating bezel and has additional holes that make it more susceptible for water damage. But it will do just fine in a pinch.

Specifications

  • Japanese quartz movement
  • Water resistant up to 100 meters
  • 40mm stainless steel case
  • Faux leather and rubber straps included
  • Chronograph mini dials
  • Screw down crown

LUM-TEC Abyss 600M Series Abyss

The Abyss is a diving watch and an interesting one at that. It is water resistant up to 600 meters, which is going to be excellent who really loves underwater exploration. The watch boasts Japanese automatic movement in a durable stainless steel case with sapphire crystal glass protecting the dial.

In terms of durability and performance, it’s truly an excellent watch. The faux leather band is not a bad option for diving, since it’s not as sensitive to saltwater as genuine leather. And you can always switch it out for a rubber or nylon dial, if you prefer something more rugged.

The screw lock crown guarantees water won’t damage your watch, ensuring that the mechanism inside stays dry even if you manage to test the maximum of its water resistance. And the dial is the most interesting thing about the Abyss watch – instead of proper time markings, the dial has cut-outs. They are both numerals and dashes, and they’re all luminous allowing for easy legibility in pitch black. The hands and the rounded date window are luminous as well.

However, the fixed bezel makes it really hard to recommend this to those who are looking for the best diving watch. It lacks any feature that lets you track exactly how long you’ve been under, which is really a shame.

Specifications

  • 48mm stainless steel case
  • Sapphire crystal glass
  • Dial with cut outs
  • Luminous hands and time markings
  • Water resistant up to 600 meters
  • Fixed bezel
  • Screw lock crown

Lum-Tec 300M Series Watch

Lum-Tec 300M Series is a rugged military and diving watch. It is made from 316L stainless steel with titanium carbide coating, for exceptional durability even in the harshest conditions. It comes with a rubber strap and a stainless steel strap, which is great. The rubber strap is obviously lighter, while the stainless steel strap offers more security in harsh conditions.

The stainless steel bracelet features links that alternate between brushed and high polished finish, for a more interesting look. And the same can be said for time markings in the dial, which alternate between orange and white to make the watch more unique.

This is an automatic watch with hacking and hand winding features, so it’s definitely one of the better options. Especially if you’re not too happy about the quartz movement that’s used in most of the brand’s watches.

The markings and the hands are all illuminated, making this Lum-Tec watch easy to read even in pitch black. Of course, there’s also a unidirectional diver’s bezel (with lume), allowing you to keep track of how long you’ve been underwater. And there’s a convenient date window between the four and five o’clock markings, which beautifully blends in with the dial.

The screw down crown is another convincing feature for the diving watch. Plus, this watch is water resistant up to 300 meters, which is just the cherry on top.

Specifications

  • Miyota 9015 Japanese automatic movement with hacking
  • 45mm stainless steel case with titanium coating
  • Sapphire crystal glass
  • Stainless steel and rubber bracelets included
  • Water resistant up to 300 meters
  • Screw down crown
  • Unidirectional rotating bezel with lume
  • Illuminated hands and time markings
