The Aviator watch is an excellent option if you’re looking for a versatile wrist watch with lots of functions. It has a rotating tachymeter bezel and chronograph mini dials that make it easy to track everything with the watch. There’s also a date window at five o’clock, but that’s the only calendar feature it has.

This watch features a rose gold pleated stainless steel case with sapphire crystal glass. The leather band is sleek and elegant, and it has a standard steel pin buckle. And the push down crown is simple to use, as are the two buttons on either side of it.

The dial is black and all the time markings are nicely contrasted against it, for easily legibility. There’s lume in the hands and the hour markings, so you will be able to tell time even in the dark. On top of that, there are three smaller dials, each of which has a specific chrono function. One is a 30-minute counter, another is a 12-hour counter and the third and final one is a classic seconds counter.

This watch is water resistant up to 50 meters, but it’s not meant for swimming and diving. It could handle the occasional shower, but considering the price point and the luxury materials, I would advise you to just avoid testing the water resistance altogether.

This Revue Thommen watch is one of the simpler options. It’s very classic with the 45mm stainless steel case and black PU strap. Everything about this watch is black and silver, so at first glance it doesn’t really look like a proper diving watch – we’re used to those being blue with at least one or two red accents on it, right?

But the beauty of the watch is partly in its simplicity – precisely because it has such a low key design, it could easily pass as an every day watch or even a dress watch. The only giveaway might be the PU strap with buckle clasp, but you could always replace that for something a big more sophisticated.

The PU Strap is actually perfect for a diving watch because it’s very durable and it fares well in salty water. The screw-down crown keeps the mechanism protected from moisture, while the rotating bezel allows you to keep track of exactly how long you’ve been underwater.

Revue Thommen GMT watch is great if you want something really sophisticated. Everything about it looks like an homage to the Rolex GMT watches, and that’s putting it nicely. The two-tone GMT bezel is very similar to the Rolex bezel, as are color and shape of the hands.

I mean, how many other GMT watches have you seen that sport a Mercedes hour hand and a red GMT hand? But I’m fine with this – if you want a watch that’s the spitting image of a Rolex but can’t afford the real deal, this is certainly the second best thing. Especially because it’s not just some cheap knock-off, but a beautiful stainless steel watch with sapphire crystal glass and Swiss automatic movement.

The dial is black and all the markings on it are white, for great contrast. Also, there’s lume in the hour markings and in the hands, so it should be easy to tell time even in the dark. And Rolex’s GMT bezel is really easy to use – align it with the GMT hand, and just like that you can tell time in two different time zones simultaneously.

This watch is water resistant up to 300 meters and it has a screw down crown. It could easily work as a diving watch – if you don’t mind the lack of a proper diving bezel, you can definitely take this for a spin underwater. The brushed stainless steel bracelet even has a diver’s extension, allowing you to secure this to a proper diving suit.

Revue Thommen Airspeed Pioneer Automatic Chronograph

The Pioneer watch from Revue Thommen is a good option if you want something with a big case and dial. The 43.5mm case is one of their largest, while the black dial boasts several mini chrono dials, multiple bezels and day and date windows at three o’clock.

The outer dial is a standard unidirectional one, as is often seen in diving watches. But the watch also has an inner rotating dial that’s a tachymeter, so it’s even more versatile than it appears. There are also the three chronograph counters that keep track of seconds, minutes and hours, in addition to the standard time markings. Those are Roman numerals, and they make this watch look even more sophisticated.

The main hands are luminous, so they’ll be easy to notice even in the dark. And the chronograph hands are red, making it effortless to track exactly how much time has elapsed at just one glance.

One thing that I’m not so sure about is the rubber strap. It looks quite sophisticated thanks to the engravings and the push button deployment clasp, but it’s still a rubber strap on a really expensive watch. But at least you know that it won’t get damaged in the water, which isn’t really the case with expensive leather. And since this watch is water resistant up to 100 meters and has a screw down crown, it’s certainly a worthy contender even if you just want a diving watch.

The Airspeed XLarge Classic watch is an excellent option if you want something stylish and elegant. It features a beautiful blue dial with white hands and hour markings, as well as a thin outer bezel. It’s a fixed bezel, so the watch doesn’t have a lot of extra features. But it does have a calendar function with an inner bezel with date markings and a red date hand.

This diving watch from Revue Thommen is excellent if you want something unique and functional. It is made from stainless steel but it’s pleated with rose gold and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Even the hands and hour markers are outlined with rose gold, so everything about this watch just ties together.

The dial and the rotating bezel are blue, which is common with diving watches. Brands do this because blue is the color of the ocean, so as soon as you see a blue dial, you immediately associate it with water and diving.

But that’s not the only reason this is a diving watch. It has a screw down crown, luminous hands and time markers and it is water resistant up to 300 meters. Also, there’s a date window at three o’clock that’s really easy to spot, and everything about the watch is easily legible. The anti-reflective sapphire crystal means you won’t struggle to read it in direct sunlight, while the luminous accents on the dial make it effortless to tell time in the dark.

The bracelet is also made from rose gold pleated stainless steel and it features a classic safety deployment clasp. Revue Thommen Air Speed Pilot Automatic Watch

The Airspeed Pilot watch features a simple case design with a dial that is anything but. The 41mm stainless steel case has a fixed outer bezel, and the bracelet is made with six rows of links that alternate between polished and brushed steel. It looks beautiful, but it’s nowhere near as interesting as the dial – that’s where all the action is.

This is a chronograph watch with three mini dials that let you precisely keep track of seconds, minutes and hour. And two mini dials have red hands that easily stand out from the dial, so you can read them just by glancing at the watch.

The Pilot also features day and date windows at three o’clock and a tachymeter inner bezel, allowing you calculate exactly how fast you are moving. On top of that, the hour hands are luminous, so you should be able to tell time even in the dark. The hour markings are all simple dashes, and there are even tiny luminous dots at each hour.

The case is protected with anti-reflective sapphire crystal, for easy legibility in direct sunlight. And this watch is water resistant up to 50 meters, but it’s definitely not designed to be warm in water. The water resistance is to ensure it can handle a splash or accidental spill and not to reassure you that it’s okay to go swimming with such a beautiful chronograph watch.
