There is a huge range of Casio G-Shock watches out there, and many of them are designed specifically for the military or law enforcement. However, not many of them are all-black, which are what some of you need for more stealthy operations.
So, in this overview of Casio G-Shocks, I will highlight the best All-Black G-Shocks on the market right now.
Yes, because it’s a G-Shock, it is both shock and water-resistant (200m in fact, so very waterproof). But, this watch also has additional magnetic resistance built-in.
It also comes with the standard range of digital watch features: a countdown timer, alarm, full calendar, hourly signal, a stopwatch (1/1000 sec), world time, and 12/24 military time formats.
It is meant to be a dark watch, often used by the military or law enforcement, but it also comes with an auto-backlight and afterglow (configurable of course!). The negative display also helps to keep things dark, on top of the mostly black everything else (bar the hands).

This G-Shock has a very high luminance that can be set at 1, 3, and 5 seconds. It also has an auto function that comes on when you tilt your wrist. This is great to use with the built-in countdown timer, hourly signal or alarm. But there is also a flash option you can use.
It also features a vibration alarm, which is not that common and is designed to transfer that vibration cleanly via the specially designed case back.

Don’t be shocked by the name, this Casio G-Shock is not nuclear! It actually connects with a variety of radio bands to find out the “exact time” that is kept around the world by atomic clocks. That is where the Atomic comes in!
On top of that, it is solar-powered, but Casio’s Tough Solar and has the standard 200m water resistance and G-Shock “shock resistance”. So, you know it is going to be able to last.
It has the crucial negative display, as well as a powerful LED backlight, countdown timer, stopwatch (1/100th sec), world time and alarms.
This all-black watch is also one of the smaller in the G-Shock range at 46mm, so if you have a small wrist, it is probably the one for you!
The Casio G-Shock Rangeman is a classic for those wanting that little extra in terms of features. They are made for those that love or live the outdoors, such as members of the military or survivalists.
This G-Shock comes with 200m water-resistance and built-in shock-resistant, of course. That is a given for G-Shocks. But, knowing where it will be used, they have also added mud resistance. Casio has added extra seals to prevent mud, dirt and dust from getting in. So, if you want your G-Shock to keep on ticking no matter what you throw at it, the Rangeman is the way to go.
Of course, it has all the standard digital watch features from Casio (alarm, stopwatch, countdown timer, world time, etc) but come on, it’s an outdoorsman’s watch, right? So, it also has Casio’s Triple Sensor – with Altimeter/Barometer, Thermometer, and Digital Compass. Additionally, it has sunrise/sunset data, as well as atomic timekeeping, so you don’t have to worry about it being accurate.
This watch is also designed more in the spirit of more modern watches like the Suunto, with a large clear digital display. And why is that? Because it also comes with built-in GPS, which also has track navigation and recording. And, it can connect to a smartphone for additional features.

This all-black G-Shock model has dual time, so you get the best of both worlds – analog, easy to read white hands, and a negative display digital. Almost everything on the dial is black, or a dark shade of grey. But still legible!
I won’t bore you will all the features because I listed them on the Rangeman above, but just know that it is a close sibling with all the digital goodies, the Triple Sensor and Atomic timekeeping. On top of that, it has a scratch-resistant sapphire glass and Casio’s Tough Solar so it charges when you wear it in the daylight!
It does not come with GPS though, so if that is something you need, the Rangeman is the way to go.
Maybe you don’t want the typical G-Shock style watch with the large, round face. If that is the case, then this more retro style, rectangular faced model is a great alternative.
It also has the black-out coloring, with as much black as possible.
It’s a lot simpler though, but still has 200m water resistance and the standard G-Shock protection and shock-resistance.
Adding Tough Solar to the watch is also a nice addition,
