The Best Caravelle Watches Reviewed
Bulova, founded by Joseph Bulova in the early 1900s, has a long history in the watch making business. One of their most famous watches is the alternate “moon watch” that they made for the moon landing back in the 60s.
They have since been bought by Citizen, and are now known for making reliable, affordable and stylish watches that almost anyone can afford.
The Caravelle brand from Bulova is their entry-level brand that is more on par with the huge influx of fashion watches that are on the market right now. Bulova introduced this particular brand back in 1962 as a division that sold jewelled watches. And you will see many of their current offerings are still along these lines.
They usually cost less than $100 but are still a solid and reliable watch you can wear for years.
Caravelle Women's
1. Caravelle New York
The Caravelle New York is one of their most popular watches and when you look at how stunning it is, and how many different models they have, it is not surprise.
The face various from one without any numbers, to roman numerals. There are up to 60 crystals on the bezel, giving the watch a look that is leagues above the actual price. Some models also have an AB crystal face which sparkles and shines no matter what angle you hold it at.
The band and case are all stainless steel, many of them are two-toned giving the watch an even more unique look.
Below are quite a few examples of the models and choice that is available.
- Japanese Quartz movement
- Mineral glass
- Stainless steel case and band
- Water resistant to 30m (99ft) - can get wet only
- Case size: 38 x 10.5mm

There are a few different styles which I have shown above, including some gold-toned, as well as some more colorful.

Caravelle Men's
1. Caravelle New York
Following the women’s range, the Caravelle New York comes in a huge array of colors, features and materials.
I have split them up into those with and without chronograph timer. Just to make it simple.
The standard New York is a stylish all stainless steel dress watch. However, there are variants with leather or nato / canvas bands for those wanting a more casual look.
They also have a range of markers from simple bars, to arabic numbers. And the metal bands can vary from two-tone, to single tone but silver, chrome, gold and more.
The watches feature a reliable Japanese Quartz movement along with a date function which appears at 3 o’clock on the watch face dial (a few have it at 4-5 o’clock instead).

2. Caravelle New York With Chronograph
The New York also has the option to include a chronograph which is a 3 sub-dial timer. This adds a different look to the watch, which a lot of people find more sporty or unique.
Some of the chronographs also have a dive-style bezel with minutes engraved around the outside, which is how you normally time a dive. But with only 30m/99 ft water resistance (which is not actually how deep you can take the watch) you won’t be diving in this watch. Others have a very large square bezel-surround which gives an uber-modern feel to the watch.
Caravelle have also gone to town on this model providing you with so much choice, it might even make it tough to know which one is for you.
Just know that they all have quality materials like stainless steel case (and band, or leather band) and a Japanese Quartz movement.
