Top Ultra-Thin Watches
Daniel Wellington Dapper York
Daniel Wellington really only produce slim, low profile watches. So, it no surprise that they are included on this list.
If you want an affordable, stylish, modern watch that stands out a little from the crowd, then they are certainly the way to go. Even my partner has one!
This particular model is just one of many, but it is worth highlighting with its clean white dial and Roman numerals. The signature blue Daniel Wellington hands are also there, and appear on many of their models.
As a thin dress watch, there is not a lot else that is noteworthy. However, to round out the review: it comes with Japanese Quartz movement, the stainless steel case and a leather band. It is 30 x 7mm, so really super thin, and has 30m water resistance – so splash proof.
Specifications
- Japanese Quartz movement
- Mineral crystal
- Stainless steel case
- Leather strap
- Water-resistant to 30m (100ft)
- Case size: 30 x 7 mm
Junghans Max Bill Hand-Winding
At the other end of the price-spectrum is this thin manual-winding watch from the German brand – Junghans. It is a homage to the Bauhaus designer – Max Bill, with its clean thin lines and easy to read numerals.
It is not on the super-thin end of the spectrum at 9mm, but thin enough to be a comfortable dress watch that will slide under almost any shirt sleeve. The clean white dial is also a great complement to almost any outfit you choose to match this watch with.
To save a little money, I have chosen the old-school manual winding version here, however, you can also get yourself a thin automatic watch from Junghans if you want.
Specifications
- Black-out Watch
- Manual-wind movement (J805.1)
- Hard plexiglass crystal with SICRALAN coating
- Stainless steel case
- 18mm calfskin strap
- Splash proof
- Case size: 34 x 9mm
Specifications
- Swiss Quartz movement
- Mineral Crystal
- Milanaise steel case and band
- Water-resistant to 30m (100ft)
- Case size: 35 x 8.5 mm
Seiko Men's SGF204 Stainless Steel Two-Tone Watch
Seiko does not produce too many flat watches for men, but this slim model is a great example of their all stainless steel dress watches.
This particular model comes with a two-tone stainless steel band with a foldover clasp. The case is of course stainless steel and has a fluted bezel that is very much reminiscent of the Rolex President. Of course, this watch has a standard day/date window at 3 o’clock, and not the full day at 12 o’clock like the Rolex, but it’s a stunning variation nonetheless.
IN terms of size, it is still quite thin at 8mm, and also not too wide at 35mm. Which is quite small for a men’s watch.
Specifications
- Japanese Quartz movement
- Seiko Hardlex crystal
- Stainless steel band and case
- Water-resistant to 30m (100ft)
- Case size: 35 x 8 mm
Casio Men's Watch (MQ24-1E)
Casio is another brand that you would not expect to produce a super-thin watch, however, this model still comes in at 8mm. Not record-setting by any means, but still slim enough to be a nice dress watch.
There are a few options from Casio in this particular style, but this one is an almost all-black model with gold hour markers and hands.
Of course, being Casio, it is very affordable, but that also means compromises – like the resin band and plastic case. However, it certainly won’t break the bank, and still looks stylish for the price.
Specifications
- Quartz movement
- Resin crystal
- Resin plastic band and case
- Water-resistant to 30m (100ft)
- Case size: 35 x 18mm
Casio Men's Stainless-Steel Digital Watch(A700W-1ACF)
Casio also produces a few digital watches including this thin men’s model. There is also a women’s version if you are interested.
These models are really some of the most classic retro Casio models around and is also ultra-thin at 6mm.
The functions are what you would expect from a digital Casio with a stopwatch, countdown timer, calendar, alarms, and a 12/24 hr display.
Specifications
- Quartz movement
- Mineral Crystal
- Stainless steel case and band
- Water resistant to 30 meters (100ft)
- Case size: 35.5 x 6 mm
BUREI Men's Minimalist Wrist
Heading down the price range a little more are the latest minimalist, slim watches from Burei, who have a huge range of watches.
Owing to the Quartz movement, of course, this watch is ultra-thin at 6mm. It almost doesn’t come any thinner!
This all-black, yes completely black model is one of the more popular from Burei. The only thing not dark on this watch is the tiny date window at 3 o’clock!
Unlike most dress watches, it is a little large in the face, measuring 41mm across. So not the smallest watch on the list by any means, despite its slimness.
Specifications
- Japanese Quartz movement
- Mineral Crystal
- Stainless steel case
- Mesh steel straps
- Wate-resistant to 200 meters (660ft)
- Case size: 41 x 6mm
Specifications
- Japanese Quartz movement
- Mineral Crystal
- Stainless steel case and band
- Water resistant to 30 meters (100ft)
- Case size: 40 x 7 mm
Bering Titanium Collection (11739-727)
Bering make watches with a little more quality than brands like Burei and MVMT. They have included a sapphire crystal on this watch, which is the only one in this review I believe.
And given it is a Titanium Collection watch, both the band and the case are black coated Titanium. So, this watch is not only ultra-thin, but also super-light. It measures 7mm thick, and the case diameter is 39mm, so still respectable for a dress style watch.
It also comes with just a tad more water-resistance at 50mm, so you know they are thinking about longevity with this slim watch.
Specifications
- Classic Casio look
- Digital watch
- Sapphire crystal window
- Titanium case and band
- Water-resistant to 50m (150ft)
- Case size: 39 x 7mm
Other Thin Watches Worth Checking Out
Of course, the above list of slim watches is nowhere near complete. There are just too many watches on the market to list here.
So, I thought I would add a few more you might want to check out.
The Hamilton Jazzmaster Thinline Quartz is a worthy contender for a stylish thin dress watch.
Another I like is the Infantry MDC Minimalist Dress Watch, which is super-thin at 6.5mm!
