The Dial

The dial of the G-Shock GA-2000 series has a whole swathe of noteworthy features. Let’s start with the dual time-keeping. First, it has striking analog hands that stand out from the black dial.  The overall dial is black and the hour markers are long large and tapered where they need to fit with the sub-dials.

Second, a small digital display at 3 o’clock which is also used for various other digital functions like the stopwatch and calendar (day of the week).

There are also two colored sub-dials. The first and most bold at 6 o’clock is used for things like countdown of seconds or sub-seconds and display of alarm modes and mute.

The Case & Bezel

The case of the G-Shock GA-2000 is made of an innovative resin and carbon fiber mix that is both lightweight and strong. Casio has also used this material to create a guardless button structure that is quite unique to this series. It makes the watch sleek and slim, at least for a G-Shock.

The bezel is dark and thick, with large writing for the various functions, and prominent screws around the case. There is also a large and simple LED button at 6 o’clock. This is common to a lot of G-Shocks, but the slim round casing and positioning is quite unique to the GA-2000.

Water Resistance & Shock Resistance

Like all Casio G-Shocks, the GA-2000 range comes with the standard 200m water resistance so you can take it almost anywhere wet. It also has G-Shock’s standard shock resistance, so you know it will come out the other side of any adventure you take it on.

Easy to Change Strap

The two-tone resin straps is also easily changed if you want to have another color or style.
