If you are in the market for a Casio Protrek or Pathfinder, you might be confused about what the names mean and what each model or collection provides.

Well, don’t be. Casio Pathfinder watches are actually Casio Protrek watches. It is just another name Casio use within the Protrek family of watches.

Casio often uses the phrase “Pathfinder technology” or similar in their marketing, and perhaps that is where the name came from. But don’t let it confuse you. It is referring to the watch’s ability to help you navigate using their built-in triple sensors.

What Does It Mean For You?

Whether you get a Protrek or Pathfinder branded watch, the thing to watch out for is the features you want. Don’t be mislead by the branding.

Pathfinder watches will have the Triple Sensor: Altimeter, Barometer, Compass. Some models will also have an additional Temperature sensor too!

So, the name Pathfinder gives you a big hint there. But you will also find the triple sensors on other Protreks.
