Ticwatch S vs E vs 2 - Great Entry Level Smartwatches
Mobvoi made a splash in the smart watch world with their great entry level watches – the Ticwatch 2, followed by the Ticwatch S and E.
Simple names, yes. But still watches full of features you will love. And, the great news is, both of them are relatively cheap – usually between 100 and 200 dollars.
Before we dive into the details of these two watches, I want to show you the specs, side by side…
The Differences Between The Ticwatch 2, S & E
In many cases it makes more sense to compare the Ticwatch 2 vs the others (S & E). So, most of this review will cover that.
However, there are some differences between the S & E specifically which I will also cover.
The Operating System & Tech
WINNER: Ticwatch S & E
Magnetic Charging
All Ticwatches have a form of magnetic charging, as you would expect from a Smartwatch.
The older Ticwatch 2 has a docking station, which you can also buy extra ones from Mobvoi.
The beauty of the S or E models is that they have a far less obtrusive charger which you can see in the images below.
Some people will love the smaller charger, others of you will enjoy being able to use their watch as a bedside or office table clock. So, for me, there is no winner here. Just a matter of preference.
WINNER: None
GPS Sensor
Mobvoi decided to integrate the Ticwatch S GPS antenna in the band to allow it to be far more receptive and accurate with GPS.
The result is a far better sports watch, but it also means you can’t change the band.
WINNER: Ticwatch S
Style & Color Choices
This is one of the big differences between the models.
The Ticwatch 2 comes in two distinctive flavors – Active and Classic.
The Active is the one I have the specs for above, the classic is a little different because it is less focused on sports and more on looks.
The Classic models are also more expensive, ranging from 50-100 dollars more, depending on what level you get. You can click on the images below to jump to that watch on Amazon.
The Ticwatch S & E are more like the Ticwatch 2 Active with an all plastic look and a focus on sports functionality.
The major difference between the two is on the bezel – the Ticwatch S has a timer on the bezel to help with training. The strap also has a cut-out on the inside to (apparently) help with moisture removal too.
Which Is The Pefect Ticwatch For You?
If you just want to get your feet wet and pay the least possible, I would go with the Ticwatch E. It has everything you need, is Android and Google Assistant compatible and you can change the straps.
The Ticwatch S is for those who are more serious about their sports or fitness, with it’s app and construction focus on sports/gps and keeping you less sweaty.
I would only go for a Ticwatch 2 if you want something a little more classy. The Classic models are a great way to get a leather band or metal one that look really impressive. You can check out all the Ticwatch 2s here on Amazon.
